The Artwork of Pauline McPharlin

About the artist

Pauline is a full-time artist currently living and working at Aldinga Beach, South Australia.

Her early Cricketers series, produced during her time on a sheep property near Burra, South Australia, captured the movement and lightheartedness of country cricket matches through the extensive use of swirling coloured lines, and detailed drawing.

Upon shifting back to the coast, she continued with this lively use of line, dashing scribbles and swirling forms in her Beach Girls, and Girls Having Fun series of drawings.

These works were great fun for Pauline, and she hoped to convey this enjoyment to her audience.

Her latest bird series too, has been a delight for her to paint. These are on a larger scale, using thick paint and bold strokes to convey the movement and flight of the birds, over our absolutely fantastic landscape.
